Michael "Mike" Wagner

Michael (Mike) Herbert Wagner, 68, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Monday October 27, 2025, at his home surrounded by family.

Mike was born on May 17, 1957, to Herbert A. Wagner and Loretta Jean (Lindeman) Wagner in Greenfield, Iowa.

Mike attended Atlantic Schools and married Pam Harlan on August 11, 1979.

Mike was employed by American Buildings, managed the transit bus garage for Southwest Iowa Transit, and managed the shop for A.M. Cohron & Son, Inc. He retired in June of 2019.

Mike was a lifelong mechanic who enjoyed old cars, hotrods and motorcycles as well as collecting old gas station memorabilia. He was very artistic and talented as a welder and made yard art that was mostly made from pieces and parts of old equipment and about anything else he could incorporate into one of his designs.

Mike loved spending time with his family and his dog, Ruby.

Mike is survived by his wife, Pam of Atlantic; daughters, Nicole Wagner and Lacy Crall and husband, Shannon all of Atlantic; grandchildren, Kayden, Parker and Johanna Crall; nieces and nephews; and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herby and Loretta Wagner; brothers, Fred and Bill Wagner; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Keith and Joan Harlan.

He will be remembered for his humor, commitment and readiness to help both family members and friends. Mike’s legacy of kindness and creativity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Friday, March 13th at The Venue, 307 Walnut Street in Atlantic. A prayer service will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by a meal and sharing of memories. In staying true to Mike’s way, the family encourages casual attire.

Per Mikes wishes, in lieu of flowers, plant a tree. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
