Linda Weaver, 76, of Atlantic, Iowa, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Cass Health in Atlantic.
Linda Lou, or ‘Short’ to her beloved sister Barb, or ‘Aunt Lindy’ to her treasured niece and nephew, or ‘Gigi’ to her precious granddaughters, was born on February 27th, 1950, in Council Bluffs, IA, to Clifford and Della Sievers.
The love Linda had for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ poured from her heart in countless ways. “You will know them by their fruits,” Jesus said. “Every good tree bears good fruit.” Linda bore good fruit. Her love for her current sweetheart Duane Christofferson; her sons Sean, Shane and Derek; her granddaughters Mackenzie, Anna and Emma; her sister Barb Lynch; her daughters-in-law Karen and Lisa and her extended family and friends still living and deceased was something special. Her gentleness also extended to God’s four-legged creatures and she will be greatly missed by her loyal canine companion, Cocoa.
The best word that could describe Linda was servanthood. It was a sight to see. It was little things, big things and everything in between. Putting surprises in her granddaughters’ personal mailboxes so every visit felt like Christmas; attending her sons’, granddaughters’ and friends’ numerous events when it required hours of drive time; cooking meals that she did not need to cook when leftovers would have been totally fine; displaying the loves of her life in pictures all over the house; being patient, loving, gentle and kind during times of stress; offering an ear to listen; giving hugs; making her guest rooms extravagant for family during holidays; sharing Scriptural Truth verbally and in letters, notes and social media; witnessing to prisoners, friends, family and anyone she met who the Holy Spirit whispered to her to talk to; being a caregiver to those who are sick; writing countless letters of encouragement, particularly the letters sent to her sons after she dedicated her life to Christ in the early 1990’s—it is this servanthood that made Linda a wonderful sweetheart, wife, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and sister-in-Christ.
If a full list of detailed examples of Linda’s servanthood were to be written, it would necessitate a 7+ page program.
Linda lived her entire life in and around Walnut and Atlantic, Iowa. It began on a farm southeast of Walnut. It transitioned to a home in Atlantic, Iowa. It ended with her sharing the remaining years of her life with her dearly loved friend Duane Christofferson, whom she greatly cherished and held very close to her heart. Linda especially treasured her time riding along with Duane in the combine during harvests and in the pumper truck during job site visits.
Linda is preceded in death by her sons’ father, Dennis Brix; her husband, Richard Weaver; her mother, Della (Henningsen) Sievers; and her father, Clifford Sievers.
Linda is survived by her sister, Barb (Dale) Lynch; son, Shane and daughter-in-law, Karen Brix and granddaughters, Anna and Emma; son, Derek and daughter-in-law, Lisa Brix and granddaughter, Mackenzie; son, Sean Brix; and beloved, Duane Christofferson.
Visitation with the family present will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 13th at Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 14th at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kimballton, with Pastor Tim White officiating. Burial will be in the Layton Township Cemetery in Walnut following a time of lunch and fellowship at the church.
The family would love for you to share any personal examples of experiencing Linda’s servant heart in the servanthood album. During visitation the album will be located on a table just after greeting the family and before and after the funeral in the entry way of the church. You may share your experiences in the online guestbook if you are unable to attend the visitation or service.
