Diane Templeman

Diane Templeman, 79, of Atlantic, Iowa, died Monday, September 7, 2026, at Exira Care Center in Exira, Iowa.

Diane Faye Bro was born on April 10, 1947, in Atlantic, Iowa, to Arnold and Elsie Bro. She grew up on the family farm near Exira and graduated from Exira High School in 1965. She attended Iowa State University before meeting the love of her life Dennis Templeman.

Dennis and Diane were married on September 17, 1966, at Exira Lutheran Church and honeymooned in Estes Park, Colorado. They made their home on the family farm near Atlantic, Iowa, where they raised their two children, Mark and Erin.

Diane worked as a waitress and at Walnut Grove in her early years. In addition to being a dedicated stay-at-home mom, she helped run several family businesses, including Circle-T Campgrounds, Templeman Masonry Construction, Nishna Valley Speedway, and Templeman Snowmobile Repair. After the kids were grown, she worked at Camblin Photography, Albertson Cleaners, JCPenney Catalog, and New Beginnings before retiring from A+ Designs in 2012.

Diane enjoyed home design and decorating, sewing, quilting, and tending to her flowers. She treasured time with friends and family and enjoyed snowmobiling, shopping, and reading. She will be remembered for her cheerful demeanor, warm smile, and deep love for her family. Visitors to her home were often treated to her specialties of apple crisp and homemade zucchini bread. Autumn was always her favorite season.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Charles Bro; her sister, Ila Mae Tibben; and her brother-in-law, Ronald Templeman.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis; their son, Mark (Laura) Templeman; their daughter, Erin (John) Nelson; her grandchildren, Derek (Mikayla) Templeman, Nicole (Matthew) Paez, Chase (Olivia) Templeman, and Jared (Raegan) Nelson; two great-grandchildren; her in-laws, Diane Bro, Ronald Tibben, Carol Templeman, and Norman and Sherry Templeman; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life visitation will be held on November 7th from 2-4 pm at Roland's Funeral Service in Atlantic.
