Brenda Sneed

Brenda Sneed, 64, of Atlantic, Iowa, formerly of Omaha, Nebraska, died Saturday, June 27th, 2026, at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

Brenda Lee (Marco) Sneed was born on October 29, 1961, to Jerry and Janice (Jackson) Marco in Omaha, Nebraska. She spent her early life growing up in South Omaha helping her father raise and train horses to compete in AKSARBEN and other area tracks. It was a skill she would carry well into her adulthood until AKSARBEN closed in 1995. She would eventually receive approval from the Nebraska Board of Stewards to become a jockey. After her career as a horse trainer and jockey, she worked as a Security Guard for AT&T and Pinkerton Security in Omaha. She would spend most of her life living in “South O” until recently moving to Atlantic, Iowa, with her long-time partner Johnathan Casey who was formerly of Omaha.

She was a tough, but loving, hard working mother who relentlessly helped anyone she found in need. But, without question, raising her two boys, Noah and Adam, was the pride and joy of her life.

Brenda is survived by her two sons, Noah (Tisha) Marco of Omaha and Adam (Darianna Flott) Dougherty of Omaha; long-time partner, Johnathan Casey of Atlantic; mother, Janice Marco of Omaha; grandchildren, Kinsley Daugherty, John Patrick Daugherty, Ella Smith, Helen Smith, Christian Smith; great-granddaughter, Aiyana; sisters, Honey (Elliott) Mulholland, Sugar Spicer; brother, Troy Marco; uncles, Boonie (Robin) Marco, Frank (Julie) Marco; and many, many other beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Jerry Marco.

A Celebration of Life visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to close on Saturday, July 25th, at South Omaha's Finest Tequila Garage Bar at 4971 Q Street in Omaha, NE.  Please RSVP with Noah Marco at (402) 650-1475 before the 25th.
