MAUDE M. BROWN
Maude M. Brown, 100, passed away at Heritage House in Atlantic on Sunday evening, March 2, 2008.
Maude Brown was born July 16, 1907 in Cass County, Iowa to Barton and Mary Lindeman McFadden. She was married to Glenn O. Brown on April 23, 1927 at Red Oak, Iowa. They farmed near Lyman most of their lives. She attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and taught school more than 40 years in Grant, Elliott, Griswold, Lewis and rural schools. She will be remembered as a kind and loving teacher who loved children.
Maude was a 4H leader and helped start several 4H clubs in Cass County. She and her husband were very active in Farm Bureau and Cass County Dairy Association. She attended the Atlantic Gospel Chapel.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn; two brothers, Roy and Paul McFadden of Texas; two sisters, Hester Havens of Denver, CO and Marie Frank of Boulder, CO and a number of nieces and nephews.
